You did What to the TV?

This last summer, the TV started not turning on at my parents house. 

They tried all the standard stuff, unplugging it, checking for obvious damage and so on. They tried to get it to turn on, and every once in a great while it would actually would click on. However, turning it off would pretty much guarantee that you wouldn't see the luminous glow of 1080p entertainment for a lengthy amount of time. 

So after clicking the remote countless times, the TV would sometimes turn on, but not without the ever present fear of the TV not turning on again, once it was turned off.

I came to visit, uninformed of the situation, and switched the TV off. 

This resulted in a frustrated raised voice from my dad, "Seriously, you just did that?!"
This, coming from the same guy who seemed so concerned about turning off lights, and fans, saving hot water, and killing all electrical flow to items that were not in use, so I think it could be understandably stated that it threw me for a loop. 

Now, my dad is pretty handy, and he found out about a week earlier through 20 minutes of good hard "googling" that he could get his TV to turn on with a hairdryer.

Of course, I knew nothing of this, so I was shocked to hear him grumble his way down the hallway saying something about "..now I gotta get this crap, and do it again!"
Imagine my amusement as he returned with my mom's hot pink and black hair dryer in his hand!
He plugged it in and started chuckling explaining the situation to me through laughter!
The funny part was, it worked!

Apparently many people have had the same issue with the same model TV, its a humidity sensor attached to the power supply. 

So I would like to thank Sony, for giving us a good laugh, and a crappy power supply!

 

What I Do In My Free Time- Photoshop!

This was one of my first "successful" Photo-Manipulations with Fire

Free time, when I have any, is generally spent on playing guitar, or writing, but my true passion is photo enhancing/manipulating/editing in Adobe Photoshop CS6!

Anyone who takes the time to get to know me will tell you, I have a vivid imagination and a lot of crazy ideas. I’m no pro, but I have learned a few tricks that I've shared that have helped me in the past, and a few of my friends.

Perhaps what draws me to Photoshop the most, is the never-ending possibilities. You can literally create anything if you have the right resources and creative spark!

I like very detailed, visually enticing artwork, so I try to make my work as fun to look at as possible!
I have seen a few great ideas that people had and I have done a personal spin off on them to come up with my own unique photos.

Not everything is “copy and paste” with no real talent, just a few filters, and Poof, I’m done - Not the way I Photoshop!

I get my hands dirty, and honestly, I fail a lot before I produce anything I like!

Using this effect helped me learn how to use Channels to grab shadows, use masking, and play with lighting

I often display either humor, or something I simply think is cool.
I love the fire effects I’ve tried, but perhaps I’ve over-done some of the effects. I do tend to over-do a lot, so part of my learning experience is to KISS(Keep It Simple, Stupid).
Again, I am no master, by any means, but I do love to create, and I do love to produce these strange, and hilarious, down-right weird photos! Some of my work I pour all my efforts into, and other pieces of work, I merely click a few tabs, press a few buttons, draw a few lines, and then click save as .jpg and then adjust lighting. Done. So yes, I run through some simple steps, but usually, it draws me in, and I feel compelled to keep editing til' I am happy with the result. Settling for less is not in my nature.

Photoshop has come a long was since the Version 7 platform I started out on!

Some awesome features I use regularly-

Content-Aware

This is an awesome feature, It stitches together portions of the photo to fill a “hole” or selected area-
Now,  selecting an area on the “background layer” and hitting delete will summon a menu that gives you this option, and allows you to choose to use this tool! This is great for deleting small discrepancies like people in the distance, or for moving objects and letting the program fill the hole it leaves behind. Works very well most times, but there are mixed results, since the outcome is random and based on the diversity of content in your photo. Over-all it is one of the best features of CS6.

Cropping Tool

Adobe Found a way to finally make sense of the crop tool! Now as you crop, you have a preview of the final outcome of the photo-so no more selecting a certain area, the hitting enter, then processing, then seeing that you don’t like it after its completed. Whether you are rotating a photo, or just trimming it down, or both, you get a real-time preview, and that speeds up the whole process!

HDR Tool

HDR images fuse multiple shots taken over a variety of bright to dark exposures into one photo. This means that the shadow detail can be “turned up” in an overexposed image that is far too bright, and that hidden brightness can be intensified in an image that is far too dark. The results can be staggering! This gives you quite a beautiful balance, and can be used to make a photo seem “other-worldly” in a sense, or “grungy” or even just plain “creepy”

Here are a few funny, random, crazy photos I've done over the last 18 months

This particular Photo(2 versions) really pushed me to try something strange, and fun to look at, and I've had every reaction "gross!" "weird.. what is that guy!" "dude... this is so frickin weird" "Omg what is that..!!"

I had a friend ask me to make her Tattoo more visible.. I got carried away..

This guy has too much fire on his foot, but despite that, I still like how it turned out

This was me jumping off of something, in a park I think, as you can see, I got carried away, again, into clearly, my own world Made this for a buddy of mine- Not the best, but definitely fun to try out my "paint splatter" brushes combined with a cloning stamp! And of course "fireball belch" from.. nowhere.

I Chose to be free of all obligation, and to really start living

Life is responsibility, but that doesn't necessarily mean that you have to do all the work.

I remember being so disgruntled that I had to do all these stupid things myself, like, change my oil, or mow my lawn, or clean my yard, etc.
Now I can just pay someone $40 and get an oil change, $20 and have my lawn mowed, or $20 and get my crap hauled off my yard.
One man's trash, is another man's treasure after all! It's safe to say the average person can afford these things.
But what if I want to go to Tahiti? What if I want to go to Egypt (well, maybe not now..) and see some pyramids?
What if, when XCOR starts flying the LYNX next year, I want to go to 330,000 feet in under five minutes, and experience weightless bliss and see the curvature of the earth from a zero gravity suborbital view from outside of the atmosphere?
Why can't I go around the world, and help people?
How do the normal people accomplish what the extraordinary people do, or what the extraordinary people don't do, but should?
Well, honestly, we don't. Or at least not at some great cost, like a loan that comes with a 22% interest rate.
And by ordinary, I mean like $18,000-$36,000 year end earning american people.
If you wan't to do anything meaningful, your going to need to have your own money, and learn how to come up with it on a consistent basis, in significant amounts!
Look, you, my dear reader, may not see what I choose as anything more than a scam, but I chose to do a little part time job, that can result in $30k in a month, if I do it right. Even more probably.

But more than that, I chose to be free of all obligation, and to really start living my life, for the first time.

So what is that part time job, and whats it all about?
It's an investment, in my education in marketing, sales, investments, where to put your money, and how to make it pay out 500% if not more! There are no guarantees. Just the way I like it. Why? "Mike your nuts!"
Oh well. I'm nuts then. So what. At least I'm putting on my game face on and saying "forget just sitting and dreaming", I'm reaching for my dreams, which is way better than just sleeping through them!
If I fail? I lost really, not that much money at all.. So to me, its not a big deal. I'm not rich, I do have a lot in this, but money can be re-made. I won't die, I won't starve, I'll survive.
Look I'm not trying to say Empower Network(link to my other blog) is for everyone, but anyone who can blog, and click, and be creative and interesting has a shot at a high income!
No its not easy. But its simple, and I've seen results already!
Look, do what you want, live how you please, but I don't believe i need to struggle to make money.
Plus, screw the money! I don't want money, I want a vacation, I want freedom to go where I want, when I want, with whom I want!
I see opportunity, where others see a "scheme"
I see success, where people haven't even tried to look because they are so obsessed with the idea that making money in a simple way is impossible, and that anyone who tries to go that rout is "evil" or "blind to reality" because they want to take a risk!
Folks, I get that risk is scary, but I only got one life to live, and this life will dissolve. I want my life to be happy and I'll do what I need to do to get there!

..and then I met Randy Schroeder

I told myself I was going to succeed no matter what, but my mind was clouded with doubt.
Then I Got some Great Advice from Randy Schroeder

What have I accomplished?
I started thinking of myself as a success story waiting to happen, instead of a failure who simply "can't"
I grew my target market, and added five names to my leads list, in 10 minutes btw, plus learned a ton about outsourcing, SEO,  Marketing on social media sites, Facebook Ads, Google Ads, The power of videos, how to capture peoples interest with true, and compelling stories, and how to make $1000 in a day using funnel systems capture pages, and closing technique, that actually work.

Holy..Crap...

This is a collection of all the facts, data, and information that I personally have seen, and used that should show you How to Get more Traffic.

What is SEO? SEO is Search Engine Optimization
It uses keyword search strings

Your website is one of these two-

On page optimization
This is using a blog platform, as an example, that already has credibility, like Empower Network, or a number of other popular blog sites.

Off page optimization
You will need thousands of pages back-linking your site to show up on the top 10 in the major search engines! If you outsource your back-linking with tools, or hire someone to do it, you can get good results.
Otherwise you’ll have to post your content all over the web, pointing back to your major site, using different sites. The way google views content, you should be spinning your sentences and paragraphs because too much of the “same thing” all over looks suspicious and like spam or virus content. You really will be spending a lot of time doing this, but it’s not a bad way, if you don’t mind constantly changing the way you say the same thing.

Target one Keyword per article.
You need to keep your topic related to one keyword, because it will funnel in the people who search for that one key phrase.  Make sure all your key words are relevant some way, preferably in a direct way, to your articles.

Target keywords that people are looking for
look for common questions that you can help answer, like “how to get more blog traffic” otherwise you could have an awesome blog, and no one visiting it.
Example, if you typed in “new year resolution to make $30,000”, “how to make $30,000 in 90 days” and “ultimate new year’s resolution” these are all different, yet related.

Use google’s keyword tool
Just google “keyword tool” and it will pop up, then make a search of different key words and it will tell you how often they are searched.

Be a Resource
Share your input on topics, and give demonstrations of how something works, and make "How To's"  articles. better yet, make a video about something your interested in like, how to get more traffic, and put your keyword in youtube.

Make quality Content

How many websites do you remember, that you planned on forgetting because they weren't helpful?

None.

If you are not informative and helpful, no one is going to want to revisit, or bookmark or link your page.

Youtube
Make videos! Vlog about your blog, and use the appropriate keywords on your video, and put a link to your blog in the comment box and you can easily get a top 5 position on google search pages, though this way you may not stay there for long, so you’ll need to be consistently keeping a video log of your blogs, which doesn’t take any real extra time.

Make a list of your relevant key words separated by a “, “ on a word document and you can copy and paste them into the proper are.

So how can I Get more Traffic...And make MoneyUse your SEO skills as a funneling system for people looking for your product!
Use your blog as a page that can sell the product to your customer want.

Set up a merchant account, or sign up for an affiliate program, and start blogging, getting traffic, and selling your product, and you can seriously make good money blogging!

I told myself at one point in time that I was going to be someone bigger than "this average guy", like we all tell ourselves.

I have survived too much to just sit back and assume my purpose in life is to simply exist. I got kicked out. My life was a wreck! I had a crappy job as a mechanic at walmart getting paid $9/hr for 30 hrs a week. Some you don't like walmart, but no body seems to hate it more than its own employees haha!

After

I lost my belongings, and had to move due to a flood in 2011 in ND, some of you may have heard about that, since it was on every news station! I came back to California, where I was born and raised, and have been struggling ever since.

Am I really meant to just skate through my life?

No. But I have anyway.. And the other day, I heard about this Viral Blogging network, and after many attempts at marketing, and working my butt off working 50 hour work weeks I decided "I'm Tired of the Struggle! I want to Succeed"

Many people seem to have a common lament

"I was sharing my thoughts on one blog, and nobody cared… 
What can I do to get people to read my blog?"

Today I want to talk about how I got 100 hits on my blog in 36 hours, using what I learned from the Empower Network.
I remembered seeing the videos that David Wood and David Sharpe presented me with, and seeing how they actually got me to their sites.

What was that “magic” that made me click?

Turns out it was Target MarketingShowing the people interested in your topic, your content, and understanding how to present what you want people to see, what you want them to know, and above all else, having a firm grasp on understanding how to show the person interested, your unique content.
So, how is it done? How do you get people to read your stuff? How do you get people to buy your stuff?
Well first you have got to have something to “sell” that people want.
Even if you’re not in direct sales.
This will help you get traffic 

Look guys, don’t be fooled, even if you’re not selling something for money, you’re still advertising for whatever motivates you! Even if it’s just for that “warm and fuzzy” feeling of knowing someone is genuinely interested in what you have to say. Wanting to connect.
You want to generate leads, hits, and get that “sale” even if that “sale” is just a comment, or someone who’s truly interested in you.

So what have you got?
This is the first question you need to ask yourself. What is it you want to blog about? Nobody wants to read a crappy blog.
Keep it simple
Write about what you love, what you learned, what you’ve accomplished, and what you want to share! What you want to accomplish!

There! Now that you have quality in your post, you can start showing people.
Go to Bloggers.com and become a member, share your link in the talks, people are always asking for links!
But don’t spam it!

 Use key words and make sure they have relevance to your topic!

Create a facebook page, (here's mine btw)and share your blogs there and tell your story!

Tell your friends and family!

Join Google+ and get a blogger account, and share your blogs with blogging groups on google!
Become friends with bloggers! This makes the most sense!
Comment on fresh posts, and show intelligence, be confident,  not obnoxious.
Use your twitter account, link it to facebook!
This is what got me my first 100 visits!
It’s pretty simple actually.
But if you really want to get people’s attention, make videos, and be real with people.

How am I gonna make this happen?!

Repelling Negativity

If there’s one thing I hate, it’s the “…Man! I should have done it!!..” moment that accompanies the decision to no go through with a plan you had, or a plan that was laid out and offered to you, that you could have made work.

I think we can all relate to having an offer presented to us, that would’ve been on some level..ground breaking for us!
But for whatever reason, we said “No”. And isn’t it worse when you’re watching TV, or reading some celebrity gossip, or facebook browsing, and everyone's just posting lyrics and crap again, and your just thinking “man, I could be there, doing that..!”

I know that feeling!
One time when I was about 16 or 17, I didn’t go to a friend’s birthday party, because a girl I had a crush on was going to be there with a  guy who she was “going out with” just a few days before.
So I stayed home and tried to take my mind off it by playing some guitar… and piano… and then I started doodling….and I was thinking the whole time “I should be there! AAA! Why didn’t I go?!”..
All my other friends had gone, and all I did was pace back and forth throw a pathetic pity party about how “it’s too late now!” to go to the party! And isn’t it so much worse when you know that all your friends are having fun without you?
Those people are all smiling, and eating cake, and hanging out, and playing games and listening to cool music! Getting gifts! Having the time of their lives!
I hate that feeling!
Maybe you can relate to that.
Maybe you missed out on a job opportunity where multiple companies made you offers, and you chose one, and always wondered what you missed out on at the others place.
Maybe you just had some gorgeous woman/handsome guy give you that look that said “talk to me” but you said “no, I’m too scared. I’m insecure. I don’t look right”.
Maybe you’ve felt like that.
I have before. A lot!
And I’m so sick of that feeling!

I decided to Repel that feeling that always follows passing up an opportunity!

How?

So I was digging through my Empower Network back office videos and audios, listening to various people speak about marketing, personalizing, and I had this  idea.
“..what if I could do this!”

I’m going all in. I gotta create content, and I wanna go all in, I need to post one blog per day (more if I can, cause I love it!)
Not that I wasn’t doing this before, but I had an extra sense of motivation!

So I asked myself:
How do I want to do this?
What is it I want to do?

To post blogs and create content about what I learned and my experiences of Empower Network!
To be Real and Honest!To share an experience! 

But which one specifically?

I recall Hearing David Sharpe, I think it was him, saying something along the lines of

“create a success and blog about it!”

So I said to myself, “What if I could get people to watch my process, and take an interest in whats going on! ”
So…how?
By sharing a personal experience or story!So here I am! Writing about the video I filmed last night!

Last night is when it all really clicked, that I was in, or out, and i’f I’m gonna be in I gotta be ALL IN!

So I set out, quite nervously, to film my first video, I got in my fathers car, cause’ I’m broke as a joke and still live with my parents, and I don’t own one, and I started to film this video.
Now needless to say to those who watched it, I was so nervous, but so fired up internally, that I kept getting stuck mid sentence. I had to have taken like 8 cracks at the video before I was like “whatever, if people think I look like a shaky nervous idiot, they’ll be right, so who cares.”

I decided last night, to tear down that anxiety wall.

To expose myself, talk about my life, and get over it.

I tell the truth, I was scared. I want to make that $30,000 in 3 months!

I want so bad to succeed at something, in a world where I have unlimited potential but continue to fall flat on my face.

Truth is, if we are the products of our best ideas, then my ideas were about the wrong things!

So I decided to change all that and film that video.
I also filmed more tonight that are available on my youtube account!

OK, so here’s my “crazy attempt” to have a successful business!
My early new years resolution, is to make $30,000 in 3 months!
This is the ultimate challenge to myself!

I know this is crazy, but I am going to do it.
This costs less than a trip to the theaters with your girlfriend, popcorn, and gas for transport!
If $25 could get you started making $30,000 in three months, legitimately, safely, legally, what would you say?
Or you can just try and go to college, and maybe be able to pay off student loans. And buy books.
